According to the Lake Sunapee Protective Association Lake Sunapee:
- Is the sixth largest lake located in New Hampshire covering about 4,155 acres in area
- Is approximately 8.1 miles long (north-south) and from 0.5 to 2.5 miles wide (east-west), covering 6.5 square miles
- Has a maximum depth of 112 feet
- Contains 11 islands
- Contains three lighthouses
- Has five boat ramps open to the public
- Has a 25-mile driving distance around the lake with many miles of lake water view
- Is indented by several peninsulas and lake fingers, a combination which yields a total shoreline of some 70 miles
- Is 1,093 feet above sea level
